The first visit with our surgeons at Oral Surgery Associates

A patient’s first visit to our practice is very important. It is at this consultation that we gather insurance information so we can help process your claim. In addition, a current medical history and list of medications is obtained. The medical history will determine if any special precautions are necessary when administering either a local or I.V. anesthetic. Most important is establishing the patient doctor relationship. Accepted risks of surgery are discussed and any questions by the patient can be addressed. Some patients are extremely anxious when planning a surgery. These anxieties are addressed and usually relieved after visiting with our doctors. A referral is not necessary to visit our practice, but can be very helpful if you have a dentist that you see regularly. The time needed for your consultation will be scheduled depending on your surgical needs.
